Legislative Center

• The NAPS Legislative and Political Affairs Department is an amplified high-fidelity advocacy microphone on Capitol Hill, at the White House and with the Postal Regulatory Commission. In addition, through the Supervisors Political Action Committee (SPAC), NAPS helps elect and re-elect NAPS allies in the House of Representatives and the Senate.

Through the teamwork of NAPS’ professional staff, Resident Officers, Executive Board and expansive legislative activist network, the nation’s premier association representing postal supervisors, managers and postmasters, educates and lobbies elected and appointed postal policy-makers on issues and legislation crucial to NAPS and the U.S. Postal Service.  Through these efforts, the Department builds and strengthens relationships with members of Congress, White House staff and members of the Postal Regulatory Commission. The Legislative and Political Engagement webpages equip NAPS members with the tools necessary to be effective and consequential advocates for NAPS and the Postal Service.

The House Oversight and Reform Committee Passed HR 1307 – The Vote by Mail Tracking Act

The House Oversight and Reform Committee, on a bipartisan vote, passed HR 1307, The Vote by Mail Tracking Act. This legislation, supported by NAPS, will allow voters to track their ballots, bringing much more transparency to the mail-in voting process. The bill will head to the House floor for a vote, and hopefully on to the Senate during the congressional lame-duck session this fall. NAPS is encouraging legislators to pass this important piece of voting legislation.
